CONTROL PANEL SUPPLY

Generator Set Control Panel Supply

Long established in the power industry, Forest City Generators Ltd is one of the world’s leading and most respected suppliers of diesel generator sets.

Manual or Automatic Control of Your Generator Set With Deep Sea Control Modules

The Forest City Generators Ltd range of stand-alone generator sets, whether for use as the prime supplier of power or as a standby to the mains utility, are now supplied with Deep Sea control modules that will allow either manual or automatic control of the generator set. The standard scope of supply is listed below, although there is always opportunity to vary the specifications according to your particular requirements. Contact our team in Dukinfield, Cheshire to discuss your individual requirements.

Deep Sea 6120

Control panel with Deep Sea 6120 AMF module for generators up to 750kVA (Except Perkins 1206 and 1706 engine powered generators)

Alternator mounted side facing profile control panel includes: Deep Sea 6120 automatic mains failure control module with start/stop/auto/manual and “Test” control buttons, real time clock, back-lit LCD text display of Generator voltage per phase, generator amps, frequency, Mains voltage per phase, mains frequency, engine speed rpm, engine oil pressure, fuel level, engine temperature, generator/load power monitoring (kW, kVA, kV, Ar, pf), generator load/current monitoring and protection, breaker control via facia buttons, battery voltage, engine hours run. USB connectivity, configurable via PC software, front panel editor, LED and LCD alarm indication, configurable start and fuel outputs, automatic load transfer, four configurable DC outputs, four configurable analogue/digital inputs, data logging facility, configurable event log, 3 pole MCCB. Emergency stop button. For automatic mains failure control simply add the optional constant potential battery charger and an ATS panel without mains phase sensing.

Control panel with Deep Sea 7320 AMF module for generators over 745kVA plus Perkins 1206 and 1706 powered generators

Alternator mounted side facing profile control panel includes: Deep Sea 7320 automatic mains failure control module with start/stop/auto/manual and “Test” control buttons, LCD digital display of Generator voltage per phase, generator amps, frequency, engine speed rpm, engine oil pressure, fuel level, engine temperature, battery voltage, engine hours run, generator kVA, generator kW, generator power factor, mains voltage per phase and mains frequency, kWh monitoring, load switch buttons, maintenance scheduler, programmable event logging, engine exerciser clock, remote monitoring ability with RS232/RS485 communications port. Constant potential battery charger. Genset protection is provided by circuit breakers mounted in the automatic load transfer (ATS) panel. If an ATS panel is not being installed then an optional extra Circuit Breaker should be fitted. Emergency Stop Button. For full automatic mains failure control simply add the optional ATS panel without mains phase sensing.

Automatic Load Transfer Switch (ATS)

The Automatic Load Transfer switch panel is designed for automatic load switching from the Mains supply to the Generator supply in the event of a full or partial Mains Failure, and for ratings of 25amps to 1000 amps consists of two 4-pole mechanically and electrically interlocked contactors, indicators for mains available, mains on load, generator available, generator on load, mains input, generator output, and load output terminals. For ratings from 1000amps to 6300amps the contactors are replaced with two 4 pole motor operated, mechanically and electrically interlocked circuit breakers (MCCBs for 1000 to 1600 amps and ACBs for 1600 amps up to 6300 amps), one under voltage trip unit per circuit breaker and two pairs of changeover contactors per breaker.

These larger panels are also fitted with a generator breaker timer.

Two generator mutual standby AMF system

The two generator mutual standby and automatic mains failure system is designed to constantly monitor the mains supply, and upon full or partial mains failure automatically start one generator and supply the load until such time as the mains achieves full restoration. Upon mains restoration the control system will change back to mains on load, running the generator off load for a pre-set cooling down period before coming to rest. Upon the next occurrence of mains failure the control system will automatically switch over to the second generator to start and supply the load. On each subsequent event of mains failure the generators will be utilised on a rotational basis.

In the event of mains failure, and the first selected to run generator set failing to operate, the system will automatically select the second generator set to run and take up the load.

Automatic Synchronising

Where more than one generator set is required to supply the maximum total load then we can supply each set fitted with an automatic start / automatic synchronising / automatic load share / load management control panel including Deep Sea 8610 control module with digital display of all monitored engine and generator parameters, constant potential battery charger, output terminal block, set mounted three pole motor operated MCCB / ACB (depending on size), under voltage trip and auxiliary contacts, alternator droop current transformers. Engine protection against low oil pressure, low coolant level, high engine temperature and overspeed with indication, fuses. The output from each set would then be connected to a combined load output / automatic load transfer switch panel with 4 pole motor operated circuit breakers, phase failure monitor, indicators for mains available, mains on load, generator available and generator on load.
